VLA helpful hints

VLA is where your school day happens. A few simple habits make it easier to use, keep your hours accurate, and help you stay on track. Here are the tips worth knowing.

Find your way around VLA

Start each day the same way: log in, head to your VLA homepage, read the daily announcements, and check for new messages from your teachers and coach. From there, open your courses and pick up where you left off.

Keep an eye on the top-right of your VLA screen - it shows how many units you still need to complete, so you always know where you stand.

Save often so your hours count

This one matters more than it sounds. Your online time only records up to the last time you saved, so save often as you work.

If you get logged out for inactivity or your connection drops, anything unsaved won't count toward your hours. When you're done, log out properly so everything records.

Keep your hours logging correctly

A few things to keep in mind so your time tracks the way it should:

  • Time spent on the VLA home page doesn't count toward attendance - you need to be working in your courses
  • A weak internet connection can cause hours to log incorrectly, so connect to strong WiFi when you can
  • Offline hours are added by your teacher after they're approved, so they may show up later in the week

Get help when you need it

Stuck on the platform? You have options. Submit a Help Desk ticket for tech issues, message a teacher for course questions, or reach out to your coach.
