A tuition-free public school for students across Ohio

GOVS is a tuition-free public community school serving students in grades 9-12 across the state of Ohio - including adults working toward their diploma until they turn 22. We're funded like any public district, recognized by the state, and held to the same standards as any Ohio high school.

The difference is how we deliver it: a flexible online curriculum students can reach anytime, paired with real in-person support at our Franklin Student Center.

A school for students who need a different path

GOVS is a dropout prevention and recovery school. That means our students are here because traditional school wasn't working - and they still want to graduate.

They come from every kind of situation: students managing anxiety or health conditions, those who've faced bullying, working students and young parents, athletes and travelers, students behind on credits, and adults coming back to finish what they started. Whatever the reason, the goal is the same.

Our mission is simple: give students a highly personal, continuous connection to learning, and help every one of them earn a real diploma.

We do it by meeting students where they are - building each schedule around the credits they need, surrounding them with coaches, mentors, tutors, and counselors, and never losing sight of the finish line. Every student who walks across our graduation stage is the mission in action.
