About Greater Ohio Virtual School
GOVS is a free public online school built for Ohio students who need a different way to finish high school. Here's who we are, the people behind the school, and the oversight that makes us a real, accountable public school.

A free public school built to help students graduate
GOVS is a tuition-free public community school serving Ohio students in grades 9-12, including adults working toward their diploma until they turn 22. As a dropout prevention and recovery school, our whole reason for existing is to help students who've struggled in traditional settings reach the same finish line: a real Ohio high school diploma.
We do it with a flexible online curriculum, a real place to go in Franklin, and a team of people committed to every student's success.
Meet the real people behind GOVS
A virtual school is still run by real people - and at GOVS, there are many dedicated individuals. Teachers, academic coaches, counselors, and support staff across every department work tirelessly to help students graduate.
Put faces to the names and see the team that makes GOVS thrive. Each member brings unique skills and passion, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to succeed. Together, they create a vibrant learning community that fosters growth and achievement.

Governed by a public board
At GOVS, we prioritize transparency and community engagement. Our governing board meets frequently and actively invites public participation in discussions. We believe that a vibrant community fosters improved decision-making and enhances the educational landscape.
For more information on how you can participate, visit our board page! Additionally, we host regular workshops and forums where community members can voice their opinions and share ideas. Join us in shaping the future of our educational environment!
A real public school with real oversight
Transparency is a fundamental aspect of being a genuine public school. Our annual reports, along with those from our sponsors, clearly outline the school's performance and operations.
In addition, we encourage community engagement by hosting open forums where parents and stakeholders can discuss the reports and provide feedback. This collaborative approach ensures that everyone is informed and involved in the school's journey.
