Learn through 100+ courses aligned to Ohio standards

Your coursework comes through the Virtual Learning Academy (VLA), where you'll find more than 100 courses fully aligned to Ohio's Academic Content Standards. Courses are reviewed and added regularly, and they're available anytime, day or night.

From core subjects to electives, it's a complete high school curriculum - just one you can reach whenever you're ready to work.

Follow a clear path to your GOVS diploma

Graduating comes down to credits and testing, and we lay both out plainly. GOVS students meet Ohio's graduation requirements, earn the required credits, and complete state testing to receive a real GOVS-issued Ohio high school diploma.

Your counselor builds your schedule around the credits you still need, so you always know what stands between you and the finish line.

Earn free college credit while in high school

Through Ohio's College Credit Plus program, eligible GOVS students can take college courses and earn college credit - at no cost - while still working toward their high school diploma.

It's a head start on a degree, and a way to graduate high school already ahead.

Explore career-technical paths and partnerships

Your education doesn't have to stop at core coursework. GOVS partners with career-technical programs and colleges so students can build real-world skills and credentials alongside their diploma.

GOVS credits also transfer to career-technical schools, so you can pursue hands-on training while staying enrolled with us.

Understand your tests and how to prepare

Like every Ohio student, GOVS students complete required state testing. Some assessments are taken at home on your own computer; state tests are taken in person at secure, proctored sites, including the Franklin Student Center.

We tell you well ahead of time which tests you need and when, and we point you to prep resources - including ACT information - so you're ready.

Turn your job into credit and attendance hours

If you're working, that effort can count toward school. Through the GOVS Work Study Program, eligible students earn elective credit and attendance hours for verified employment. And if you're a minor who needs a work permit, GOVS issues those too.

It's school and work, working together.
