It is with these factors in mind that GOVS has established a mentoring program for all regular education students enrolled. Students have been assigned a Greater Ohio Virtual School staff member, who will serve as their mentor for the year. It will be the responsibility of the Mentor to contact students with an introduction and communicate clear expectations of their responsibilities for the year. Mentors will also monitor student progress on a weekly basis, contact students to reinforce positive behavior, and determine what strategies may need to be implemented to help the student to be successful. They will also document student contacts and notify GOVS administration of any concerns they may have regarding their student. We feel this mentoring program will help keep Greater Ohio Virtual School students on the right track to receiving their high school diploma!
